IFA Buenaventura hotel, Maspalomas: I discovered this small “nest” in the corner of the garden (but with a great view at the scene) and we enjoy it for two nights… photos from the first night in the nest, here:

Pride of Maspalomas (IV)

The hotel

Thanks to Burleskas we had a wonderful room at IFA Buenaventura hotel in Playa del Inglés, on the 8th floor and at the pool/garden/scene, so we had great view and entertainment. IFA Buenaventura is a huge hotel with more than 700 rooms, 2 large restaurants, 2-3 pools, gym, discoteque, bars and entertainment areas (tennis, table tennis, poker etc) and it’s only 10 minutes from the superb beach and maybe 12 minutes to Yumbo Commercial Center. We had the breakfast and the dinner in the price, and the variety of dishes was satisfactory and especially the bakery sweets are good value. The accommodation was perfect and at a reasonable price, so I fully recommend this hotel if you plan to visit Gran Canaria/Playa del Inglés.

El hotel

Gracias a Burleskas nos dieron una habitación maravillosa en el IFABuenaventura Hotel en Playa del Inglés, en la 8a planta y con vista a la piscina/jardín/escena, así que tuvimos maravillosa vista y todo el entretenimiento. IFA Buenaventura es un hotel enorme, con más de 700 habitaciones, 2 restaurantes grandes, 2-3 piscinas, gimnasio, discoteca, bares y zonas de ocio (tenis, tenis de mesa, póker) y está a sólo 10 minutos a pie de la playa magnífica y tal vez 12 minutos del centro comercial Yumbo. Teníamos el desayuno y la cena en el precio y la variedad de platos fue satisfactoria y, sobre todo los postres de panadería son un buen valor. El alojamiento era perfecto y en un precio razonable, y por eso le recomiendo este hotel si va a visitar Gran Canaria / Playa del Inglés.

Pride of Maspalomas (III)

At the beach in Playa del Inglés

Playa del Inglés is a wonderful town in the south part of Gran Canaria, maybe the most touristic place of the island with many kilometers of great beaches, restaurants, bars and all the necessary attributes to make the happy tourists spend their money. It’s a part of Maspalomas region bordered by the Maspalomas dunes and Costa Meloneras at the East and by the San Agustin town at the West. The main events of the Pride took place here, at the Yumbo Center, in the heart of Playa del Inglés and we had the hotel nearby. I reserved a separate post to talk about the great hotel IFA Buenaventura. Now let’s see some photos from the beaches of Playa del Inglés.

En la playa de Playa del Inglés

Playa del Inglés es una ciudad maravillosa en la parte sur de Gran Canaria, el lugar más turístico de la isla con muchos kilómetros de playas, restaurantes, bares y todos los atributos necesarios para hacer a los turistas felices gastan su dinero. Es una parte de la región de Maspalomas rodeado por las dunas de Maspalomas y Costa Meloneras en el Este y por el pueblo de San Agustín en el Oueste. Los principales eventos del Pride tuvieron lugar aquí, en el Centro Comercial Yumbo, en el corazón de Playa del Inglés y nuestro hotel era muy cerca de todo. He reservado un post aparte para hablar sobre el gran Hotel IFA Buenaventura. Ahora vamos a ver algunas fotos de las playas de Playa del Inglés.

Pride of Maspalomas 2012 (I)

1st part: the introduction

Off-topic: First of all, for all my Spanish readers, I decided to have all the posts in two languages: English and Spanish. Please excuse my possible mistakes due to typing or grammar faults.

I was writing a few weeks ago about my participation at the Pride of Maspalomas, in Gran Canaria island, and now it’s time to share my experiences accumulated there. And because of the large amount of informations and photos (more than 600), I see myself forced to split it in many episodes. But I can’t start the first episode without sending my warm thanks and kisses to the entire team of BurLesKAS, especially to Desiree who is the head organizer of the ‘only for women’ event and a very warm person, also to Ana, our first face-to-face contact with the BurLesKAS, the person who introduced us to the Yumbo Center (the heart of the Pride) and the Monkey bar (the gathering point of the girls). Thank you for all!!!

In the following posts I’ll try to introduce you in the atmosphere of a second most important LGBT event in Spain: the Pride of Maspalomas, but also to share with you the beauty of the city of Maspalomas. Maybe next year you’ll include the Pride into your holiday plans. Enjoy!

1ª parte: la introducción

Off-topic: Antes de todo, para todos mis lectores que hablan español, he decidido de escribir en dos idiomas: inglés y español. Pido disculpas por mis posibles errores que pueden ocurrir.

Escribi, hace unas semanas, acerca de mi proxima participación en el Pride de Maspalomas, en la isla de Gran Canaria, y ahorra, como la fiesta se ha acabado, voy a compartir las experencias de allí con vosotr@s, mis amig@s. Y debido a la gran cantidad de informaciones y fotos (más de 600), me veo obligado a dividirlo en muchos episodios. Pero no puedo iniciar el primer episodio sin enviar mis más sinceros agradecimientos y besos a todo el equipo de BurLesKAS, especialmente a Desiree, el organizador del ‘only for women’ evento y una persona muy cálida, también a Ana, nuestra primera chica de BurLesKAS encontrada cara a cara, la persona que nos introdujo en el CC Yumbo (el corazón del Pride) y el bar Monkey (el punto de encuentro de las chicas). Gracias por todo, chicas!!!

En los siguientes puestos quiero introduciros en la atmósfera del segundo mas importante evento LGTB de España: el Pride de Maspalomas, e igualmente compartir con vosotr@s la belleza de la ciudad de Maspalomas. Quizás si el próximo año no vais a incluir el Pride de Maspalomas en sus planes de vacaciones. Disfrute!
